LiveFlow for Excel: Quickstart Guide
Welcome to LiveFlow for Excel!
Here is a short and quick guide on how to get started.
1) How To Install LiveFlow for Excel
Open your Excel workbook
Go to File -> Get Add Ins -> Search for LiveFlow -> Install
2) How To Open LiveFlow
Open your Excel workbook
Go to Home -> LiveFlow
If you have a LiveFlow subscription:
Log in using the same account where you have your LiveFlow subscription
If you’re a new user:
Sign in using Microsoft or Google
Contact us to Book A Demo and get a subscription
Connect your QuickBooks or Xero account(s)
3) How To Import a Report
Open LiveFlow in your Excel workbook
Choose a report of your choice
Set the Date Range parameters as you need
We support different types of date range options
Dynamic date ranges that can update automatically (eg. Selecting ‘Today’ will always show you the current day’s data, as on the date you open it’
Fixed date ranges will always show the data for the specified period
Trailing periods will also update automatically (eg. Trailing 12 Months will show the immediately preceding 12 months)
Set the ‘Display Columns by’ to the parameters as you need
Customise the formatting or filters under Advanced Settings.
Click Create Report.
4) How To Refresh a Report?
There are two ways to refresh a report.
Method 1 (recommended):
Open LiveFlow
Go to Manage Reports
Set your reports to automatically refresh every time you open the sheet
Method 2:
Open LiveFlow
Go to Manage Reports
Click Refresh All Reports
Wait a few seconds and all your report will be refreshed
You can also choose to only refresh individual reports using this method.
5) How To Connect Multiple QuickBooks or Xero accounts?
Open LiveFlow
Click on "Connect Another Company"
Connect your other QuickBooks account
6) How To Disable Auto-Refresh in LiveFlow?
Open LiveFlow
Go to Manage Reports
Switch the "Auto-refresh?" toggle so that's disabled
7) How To Drill Into Your Reports?
Open LiveFlow
Go to Drill Down
Click on a cell in your report that contains QuickBooks data / blue numbers
Wait for LiveFlow to refresh
You can now see all the underlying transactions under each of your accounts
8) How To Disable Links to QuickBooks
If you do not want your report to include direct links to QuickBooks, follow these steps:
Open LiveFlow
Go to Manage Reports
Select the report you want to disable QuickBooks linking for
Go to ‘Advanced’ settings
Click on the Disable links to QuickBooks toggle and turn it off
Click Update & Refresh to update your settings
