How to Remove Blank Cells in Google Sheets

Blank cells in Google Sheets can be both frustrating to look at and difficult to work with. They can cause errors, mess up formulas, and ruin visuals. This article will explain a quick way to rid your spreadsheet of blank cells. This will not remove the cells from the worksheet, but this will suffice if you are simply looking to eliminate the visual error of blank rows in your sheet.
To do this, follow these steps:
First, highlight your entire sheet. An easy way to do this is to press CTRL + A in cell A1. This will select your sheet and allow you to filter any column of your choosing. Now that your sheet is highlighted, you will select the filter dropdown arrow in column A.

Once the dropdown pops up, scroll down and select ‘Create a filter’. This will create your filter that can be used on any column to remove the blank rows from view.

This will show a new filter slicer in each column. Select the one from your first column with data in it, in our example column A. This will show a “filter” with your values as the filter options. One of these options will be ‘(Blanks)’ and will currently be selected. Simply unselect the blanks and they will no longer be shown.
